Isn't amazing what some people will say to promote their work:-

So special that they felt they could kill it

What she should have said was:-
Quote "In those days people were as ignorant and uneducated as any that we can imagine, they were living a life of extreme hardship, their own lives were based on a kill or be killed daily routine so sacrificing this dog was nothing unusual for them"

To which I can only add that not much has changed in 2000 years in some parts of this planet

The Artist's Impression is interesting.
I think they've got the ears wrong (would surely be larger and more pointed), but it looks rather like a Picardy Sheepdog, or if the coat was curlier, a Laekenois.
