Compare (vet) prices section?

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you think we should add a vet-price comparison section, where we can post threads including details of what we paid at the vets, such as treatments, operations, etc. That way people can search the section and see what others have paid for the same (or similar).

I was at the vets the other day and some guy was querying his bill - which gave me the idea. Must admit that I have often wondered what others are paying for the same sort of thing myself

It will only be for vet-related items, such as operations, inoculations etc.

What do you think - give it a go on a trial basis?

Great idea , I had a discussion with my vet post bill about applying a £16 bandage to my dog with asking if that was OK ! There does seem to be a big variation in costs from threads I have seen on the forum and would be great in terms of some of the standard stuff to get an idea of charges around the country and perhaps to look for themes in some of the bigger vet practice franchises in comparison to local independent practices .

I think it's a good idea.

For example, the cheapest place I found to have Harley castrated was £50 (up to 35kg) or £65 (over 35kg). Amazingly different to the nearly £200 I was quoted by my normal vets!!!
