Son in hospital with a rash....Nightmare

It all started after he had his school jabs, he had local itching for a couple of days nothing magor. Then Friday he has a mild rash..so I did the glass test for meningitis that was fine. Although this is a raised bumby red itchy rash its not Chickenpox. So as the day goes on it spreads everywhere, palms of his hands to the soles of his feet and driving him mad ( he is only 5). SO I took him to a pharmasist as Drs was shut!! she said she didn't know what it was other than an allergic reaction

So Saturday morning comes with not much sleep and loads of calomine lotion I phone out of hours surgery get to see Dr immediately

Only for him to say he didn't know what it was either or how to treat it as he was already having Piriton with no effect. So sends us to hospital . There we are told he has had a severe allergic reaction to his MMR jabs

So he is now home all lumpy and red and itchy poor mite

Then to top the lot I was getting ready for school run and sprayed deoderant all over my hair , so I now smell lovely all over lol. I think this weekend has taken its toll

Mel xx

My grandson had the same thing and he spent most of the time laying in a warm bath as that seemed to take away the itchiness for him.

thanks everyone

He has gone to school today cos he loves it and he wanted to go, they were happy for him to go I just had to go at dinner time with some piriton to keep him dosed up. He is doing well today

Although he might need some steroid cream if the piriton doesn't work

Aww bless his heart, there's nowt so annoying as itching.
Why isn't there an itch that you ARE allowed to scratch?

Btw, better deodourant on the hair than hairspray on the armpits (done that one ).

Hope he feels better soon.
