I'm so sorry to hear about your news It's so sad when this happens, after all the excitement.

This is exactly what happened to us when we decided to get a Border Collie pup. We followed the litter from being conceived, always planning to have a black & white bitch. She was born, we decided to call her Skye and visited her several times. Sadly at 6 weeks she died of a lung puncture, and as with you, the breeder was distraught. Luck should have it that one of the blue merle boys couldn't go to his intended home, he was going to be exported to America to a show home but after some investigation his breeder didn't like what they saw. So despite having breeding/showing friends wanting him, he was offered to us and we went to visit it.

Let's just say, if you can say no to a 7 week old puppy, you're a stronger person than I am!

He came home the next week and we've never looked back. Certain things that we've done wouldn't have been possible had I had Skye, so I think fate is a huge thing. As one door closes, another always opens as they say.

So sorry about the wee boy Jules, I have no experience in pei's but in any breed I know it is down to the individual dog and you can tell from a young age what they will be like. When I picked Maddy up her breeder asked what I was calling her, when I told them they laughed and said 'oh she's a mad one alright, a right attention seeker!'. I should have known as I just laughed it off but she's 3 now and still the same. The breeder will know all of the pups and she'll know what she's like.
