Sirens first 'kill'

On various other threads that fact has come up that - although my dogs chase small furries - they will not kill them....

Well - last night at training there was a very silly mouse....it came up from the floor board behind the radiator and wondered into the middle of the floor - needless to say the dogs all went a bit silly and it dissapeared again - it popped up a few more times and decided against coming into the floor again....until the end....

Everyone had gone and I was cleaning up with my dogs wondering about - and out pops the mouse....Siren flew after it and grabbed it a gave it a quick shake....then walked off....mouse was not quite dead....so I had to do it

I had no choice - I couldn't leave it half alive and the dogs wouldn't touch it.

sometimes they just don't have an ounce of sense.

A while ago I was reading quietly in the evening and a mouse popped out from behind the skirting board and ran around.

I dropped the book to scare it back into its hole, it completely misjudged the width of the hole and killed itself by running full pelt into the skirting board. Broke its neck.

I was trying to give it a free pass

Our dog decided to play with a Blackbird chick she found in the bushes. She proudly brought it to us, so I chased her and picked it up. But the poor bird died of shock before I could release it some were safe. The second time some Magpies dropped a week old chick in our garden. Our dog found it and crunched it in half. She brought the head to me and my fella got sent out to take it away.
