Unwanted music cassetts

I wasn't sure what thread to put this under as I don't neccessarily want to sale them but want to give them to a good home as they were about £8 each when they were bought new, but don't know where to take them.

I've got at least 50 pre recorded music cassettes, mainly pop and I want them to go too a good home. I've asked charity shops but they don't want them, and there's no music shops around here that buy music. I don't want to do a boot sale. I suppose I could put an advert in a local paper or shop window. Has anyone any other ideas and do you think people still listen to and want music cassettes?

Why not try freecycle? It's brilliant!

It never amazes me what people will come and collect.

I'm having a clear out at the mo and have had people collecting things all day!

Thanks Wishbone, I've never heard of Freecycle before. I'll look them up.

http://www.freecycle.org/

There ya go. There will be a local one near you.

You post what you have to offer for free, wait for the e-mails and they collect! Simple.

.... and once you've offered something you can also ask for stuff.

I got a really lovely three tier cat scratching condo off there the other day. Blankets for the dogs, allsorts.

Thanks again Wishbone, I'll have a look and see what they do. They sound jolly useful, although I do agree with Louise, I don't think people are interested in cassete's anymore. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained - I'll think about Freecycle. Thanks again to you both.

I tried freecycle in my area when i was looking for a baby gate for Tonks' arrival. I sent off an email to register, but never got a reply......that was 8 months ago!

No idea what i was doing wrong!

That's strange, although every local one is run by different people.
There are always loads of baby gates on ours, people looking for and giving away, pet carriers is another popular one and dog beds!
