Posh Puppies

Has anyone ever heard of a Kennel (based in Lincolnshire) that goes by the name of Posh Puppies? I'd appreciate any info about them if any one has heard of them ~ Thanks Everyone

It is a puppy mill (just searched it). Avoid like the plague.

Anything with the name 'Puppies' in it is usually a puppy mill.

Thanks everyone, I suspected that was the case, yesterday I found out the Cocker that I have been trying to rehome came from there originally

I was just intrigued to find out a little bit more about them

I believe it is just that. I have contacts in that area if you need help with "enquiries".

No doubt that's why she had socialisation problems! Sadly, we in Spaniel Trust see lots of them and many from this area. Those we haven't been able to help into a home, stay here with us (we have 2). Hope we don't get too many more or I'll have to give them the house and move into the caravan!

Thanks Fifer .... You sound as bad as me for being daft with the dogs, I always end up in/on the dog house & my boys have the lap of Luxury!

I think its just morbid curiosty withthe cocker, fortunately ~ fingers crossed she in a great home but it would be interesting to find out when she left there, she's actually had her first vaccinations through them, now I don't know if I'm a bit naive BUT do those sort of kennels vaccinate pups before they leave them (I suspect not) BUT if they do, do they somehow aqquire vaccines and do it without a vet being involved? Reason I ask is that the previous owner has the original Vacc card and thats where we found out about the 'Kennel' Posh Puppies and from what I recall, the card had no Vets details on it

I think (but don't quote me on this) that if you have a breeders licence then once the puppies reach a certain age they HAVE to be vaccinated before you sell them.

The vac certs are unlikely to be real, if the vet cannot be located or is Welsh or Irish - get the dog re-vaccinated! It's usually just another "sales" ploy to get extra dosh out of the poor mugs who buy these pups (who thereby keep the puppy farmers in business!)

I know it is so difficult to walk away but I really wish more people would. We do have some dubious 'contacts' like many rescues do.

Example: we got two cav dogs and one bitch via a p/f, the adult dog firing blanks, bitch's puppies faded, puppy blind; when they can't sell them like this, they will hand them over to rescues. So stop buying and they will all gradually get handed over or dumped! The above dogs were all found rescue places, neutered, treated and now have new homes.

Our first golden girl, bought through a large UK sales outlet near Milton Keynes, was traced back (via Wales) to a likely original location of a mass puppy farm in Ireland (yes that one - that normally has around 700 breeding bitches in a huge barn!). She had a false vacs record and on the falsified "pedigree" even had two male dog names as one set of gt grandparents!! Another miracle conception no doubt!

I don't allow myself to think about the 'breeding stock' (her mother) still trapped there or I couldn't carry on all rescue workers are the same, we have to harden our hearts and just carry on the fight to ban p/f, whilst taking in, rehabbing and rehoming their rejects.
