i think its more in your mind than the practical side of living with 1 untill it has been reversed.
with the babies they use the small tube with vicki they will use the water pipe dont worry vicki when they done my heart could watch it on TV very interesting and if you do have any pain they have good stuf in hospital to stop it wich i am sure you wont proberly the worst of it that you have to go to the toilet somany times

It must be similar to that colostomy thingy they do on You Are What you Eat, and those people don't seem to be worried too much about it do they, so I think you'll be ok Vicki. They won't use a polaroid either, they've got high tech digital cameras now which are a bit smaller aren't they! That's a good point too that Murphy's brought up, that stuff you have to drink is an instant kill or cure, so make sure you're near the loo when you drink it, I remember that poor girl in the bed next to me in the hospital making a mad dash for it At least you'll have the comfort of knowing they've had a good old look around in there and you've got nothing to worry about, coz you must be worried I know. Good luck, hope all went well tonight with the consultation.

Well, recently got back, and am booked in Tuesday 16th May for a Colonoscopy and an Endoscopy (yuk).

Doc does not know what is causing the "problem" so further investigation is a must. I have to admit, I'm not looking forward to the Endoscopy, although doc said I would be heavily sedated. He'll take lots of samples from my gut and get them analysed. Of course, I have all the nasty muck to take the day before. I can think of better things to do on a day off work! The good thing is, my lovely DW friends will be with me all the way - look out for abrupt endings and half finished sentences

Ah well, at least I'll find out what's going on, which can only be a good thing.

When I think of what Snorri, Hoggett, Rips et al have endured recently, I shall just count my blessings - onwards and upwards

xxx

Hi

Just to say I've had an endoscopy and wasn't sedated (my choice) and it wasn't too bad at all - the worst thing was that after a while i wanted to retch but of course there was nothing to retch as it was just the tube down me that made me want to retch!

Had a biopsy taken too and felt nothing
I really wouldn't want it done again, but to be honest the retching (the worst part) was just the same as if you put your finger down your throat!! So nothingtoo bad, and as i said, I was fully conscious

You'll be OK, hope this has reassured you.

Yes it has, thanks Wysiwyg. I was told by the specialist that I'll be under heavy sedation so won't know anything about it. Here's hoping.

I had heavy sedation for a bladder stretch in 2003. They gave me the anaesthetic in the back of the hand..........I though "this isn't working, they haven't given me enough". I saw someone in greens just in my peripheral vision and said "you'll have to give me more, it's not working". He said "you're in recovery love".......
