So sad to read this and my heart goes out to you. I like others hope she goes peacfully in her sleep. If not then I hope you can make that terrible decision as it is true "Better a day to early than a day to late" But having said that I really do feel for you

Hugs

so sad for you and its such a hard decision but i think you know the right decision to make.

you wouldnt be posting it if you hadnt already decided to do the right thing - perhaps you just want to know that it is the right thing to do.

and it is.

hugs for you at this very sad time.

(((HUGS)))

Unfortunately this is one of the less desirable responsibilities we have towards our dogs...

Some years ago I had a 10 year old Bullmastiff X, Zenta.. I'd had him since he was 5 weeks old... Even though I knew the end was near, I hesitated, until one day my daughter came to visit, and Zenta didn't even get up to greet her. She said: It's time, Mum... I agreed... She made the appointment, looked at Zenta and told him... Zenta smiled! Got up to lick her hand and layed back down..

I still miss him so much.

Lene

Hi love,

Ive got a lump in my throat, tears in my eyes and a pain in my chest after reading your post. You know what you must do and your friend is asking you to let her go.
The hardest part of having dogs is finally saying goodbye and letting her go. My heart goes out to you.
Sending strength - love and hugs,

Dan. xxx

i think they know before we do when the time is right, Morgie snapped his cruciate ligament at 13 and never recovered from the xray. We noticed he was slowing down before. we brought him home from the vets but he didnt want to be there was vomitting and looked dreadful we took himback he kissed us all and died peacefully two days after of a massive stroke.
We think he wante to spare us is passing he was one in a million and I'll miss him till the day I die but I know I made the right decision the vets were able to make his last hours more comfortable.
And yes I'm streaming talking about him but if it helps you make the right decision its worth it.
