Dog captured after mauling boys

This is the latest dog attack, it was on the news earlier this morning.......

Dog captured after mauling boys

"Police have captured a dog which attacked two young boys on Tyneside.
Officers were called to reports of the dangerous animal on the loose in West Denton, Newcastle, on Tuesday.

A 10-year-old boy had already been bitten by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type dog which later attacked a six-year-old boy."

Yes, it is top item on the BBC local news up here. They even had a link to the national news with our local reporter.

The bites were apparently two seperate incidents according to BBC news this morning. Not life threatening but painful and needing hospital attention.

police spokeswoman said the dog was being held until it could be established whether an offence had taken place
huh??

Wasnt this dog:
1) Out of control in a public place
2) In a public without collar and tag
3)dangerously out of control in a public place

'Dangerously out of control' is defined as being 'on any occasion on which there are grounds for reasonable apprehension that it will injure any person'. Generally, if a dog bites someone then it will be presumed to have been dangerously out of control

Hasnt this person broken the law on 3 seperate things????? Why would the police say this??

Absolutely!!

Maybe if the police did their jobs properly and enforced the dda all along these cases wouldn't now be happening.

see what you mean but if the dog "escaped" rather than being "put out" then it would explain it not having a collar on as i know a lot of people remove them whilst at home and only put them on for walks. i can only assume that seeing as it was reported missing and the owner has come forward that something similar has happened.

as for it being out of control it was more than likely scared

if this person is held responsible then i think there will be lot of panic buying of 6 foot high fencing at b+q
