I really dont envy you here!!

Hopefully I'm wrong but I was just wondering if the fact that her last home was just her in a kennel without being socialised etc and now going into a multi-dog household is a bit much for her and she may be better living as a lone pet? or with one male dog?

I suppose it may be that she has just been spayed and perhaps needs firmer guidelines and time than the others etc...

Sorry I'm not much help here but I hope you get it all sorted one way or the other.

I seperated piglet from the others for breakfast (as i always do).
A while later i took them for a walk together as normal and they all seemed relaxed, though sadie was very clingy to me (more so than normal).

I do think it is a case of piglet finding her feet and becoming more confident. This is obvious with my cat too as when she first arrived they could be in the same room together but now im pretty sure piglet would kill her if she got close enough. My poor cat is scared to come downstairs!!
I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. I really do not know what i would do under your circumstances as this could soon turn into an even bigger problem if it is not sorted.

It sounds to me as if she is finally getting her paws on the floor and showing her true character.

In all honesties if you have cats as well, and she has been attacking your dog which has been there first. It may be a sensible idea to think very hard, and begin doing some digging to see if you can think of any suitable non-dog owners who are willing to take her on and who have experience of a dog which may need some work.

The only reason i say this, is thinking about in your other dogs prospective and that of your cats that were there first. It will also be a lot less stressful on you, not having to worry about shutting doors, and alternating times in the garden etc.

If you do decide to keep her on, then maybe try finding a very experienced behaviourist or kennel club accredited dog trainer who can show you how to handle the situation and work closely with both of your dogs.

Giving her up will be hard, and only you will know if it is the right thing to do. But please think long and hard, as its not a decision to take lightly. I'm sure people on here will give you help and guidance with whatever you choose to do.

Good luck

quick update...

Things have settled down in the house now, there is still some tension around piglet and sadie but they can be loose in the same room without doing each other damage.

I have avoided creating a reason for them to fight again, they are fed seperately, they are not both in the lounge at the same time in the evening (a time when the dogs settle and have cuddles etc).
They are sleeping seperately as usual but are being walked and let in the garden together.

Things are not great, but they are certainly better than they were.

Glad things are going better
It will take a while before you settle down and feel more confident around them, but sounds like you are doing the best
Hope it all goes fine from now on
