Lungworm preventative over winter?

Do you treat for lungworm in the cold months? I'm presuming after the first frosts when the slugs and snails have gone it is safe to leave it (and perhaps beneficial for the dog to have a rest from the chemicals) but just wondering what others thought.

Wish someone would tell the slugs & snails that
congregate outside my back door all year round! Its like a nightly convention out there - no matter the weather

Suppose it depends on the location and how cold it gets; last year's snow definitely saw them off anyway! They're still about around here but I'm hoping they'll sod off by next month. Them and the spiders...
