i think they dont even know what they mean Anne and if they dont know their breed colours then they shouldnt be breeding !!

liver is a disqualifying colour in KC reg staffs and the red or "dudley" nose isnt favoured either.
I suppose thats why chocolate or liver is rarer than other colours as red nosed red is recessive and most people tend not to breed for this colour.
either that, or they are thinly disguised crosses of some sort.
I think £600 is about the going rate these days. Good irish dogs can sell for about £400-600, a KC staff is usually around £500 and I would rather pay £600 for an unreg irish dog than £500 for a KC dog, but thats just me
