Oooh Jackie, can you imagine it 5 times, and by then one of them will have wriggled out of theirs, or started eating it, or 'helping' another one to do something or other

Sorry it is down to training. Teach stand still until you are ready.

I think it may be partly down to their temperament too.
Ours stands still to get his raincoat on. There was no training involved. My take is that he knows he is going out.

Similarly with my walking boots. I sit at the bottom of the stairs to put them on and he lies on the hall floor just watching me. I guess it's association. Boots means a walk.

Well before thus turns into how I need to teach my dog to stand before I put his coat on, can I just say most of what I said is tonge in cheek. Yes I've had the coat for a few years and this is probably the third time I've gone to put it on, this time I meant business the other time I couldn't be bothered putting it on.

Figo is a show dog he knows stand wait, and he gets groomed clipped every few weeks, he stands and allows most of what I ask.

But this dog is a dog that if he does not want to do something you have a battle on your hands, as with clipping his nails that is a battle and I mean battle that took determination , I would challenge anyone to get better results.

If I could have been bothered to put it on him sooner, I would have , so let's get back to the lighthearted thread.

I bought a lightweight version of a rainsuit when I was showing Cavaliers. The legs were not elasticated then, so the first time Zoe jumped into the car, her legs slid back into the body part and she landed on her chin. I gave up using it, but my neighbour claimed it for her Min. Poodle and used it without any problems. Difficult to get an exact size I guess.

Figo looks very smart in his raincoat.
I would also have a similar battle of getting that on Dillon it would most likely end up on me.
