How soon.....

How soon after the second puppy vaccination did you take your pup for a walk?

Finn gets his second jab tomorrow and he loves being carried outside but wants to run around with Star. Our vet usually says 2 weeks after but with Star coming in and out of the house and them sharing water and chewing the same toys it got me thinking

It depends which vaccination your vet uses.
Teagan only had to wait a week, but we walked on the pavement on our street (didn't meet any dogs).
Kingsley was still going out for walks and meeting other dogs though.

Our vet said a week, give or take a couple of days

Carole I would just go with your instincts and avoid the park where lots of unknown dogs have been, and obviously pull him away quick if he sniffs any poos

Archie had his first contact with outside ground a couple of days after the 2nd jab (emergency pee lol) but he didn't get properly walked until about 5 days after, and didn't go to the park for a week after.

I can't remember how long I kept Kali at home (it was 11 years ago!), but Snorri was in town before he'd had any (carried, not walking) because for about 10 days, I had no choice (too long a story for late-night typing!) - but after he'd had them, I was told 1 week, but I kept him in the garden for two.

These islands are (comparatively) safe, the most risk is from rats carrying lepto - being farmland, the countryside is alive with rats , which is why (unlike some) I keep the innoculations current.

P.S. - Novibac here, too - but a different Nobivac combo each year ("programmed" to avoid over-innoculation against certain diseases).
