Petals eyes should I be concerned?

Ok, as you can see from the pictures below, Petal has two different reflections on her eyes. As a pup BOTH her eyes used to glow green under poor lighting, flash of cameras, reflection of lights. As she's got older her left eye is normal, only get a reflection from camera flash etc. but her right eye still glows green and as you can see from the photo her eyes reflect different colours.

Dad is Optigen clear, mum is carrier, so at worst she could be a carrier, both parents are Glaucoma clear.

Petal is 6 months old, do you think it's something that will correct itself with time, or should I start worrying now?

If you are worried then take her to your usual eye specialist to check it out. She wont have PRA so I doubt it's that.
Maybe she just has a different concentration of light reflective cells at the back in each eye?

Yes, I think I might get her checked. It's just so strange, even under normal light conditions her right eye reflects like a luminous green, where as her other eye is fine....but like I said as a pup, BOTH her eyes were green....very strange!!

Are there any other eye diseases that Cockers get?

I've a horrible feeling it might be a cataract having a closer look under the halogen lights, I think my worst fears are confirmed

Get her checked by a specialist before going into panic mode.

With the bright lights shining down on her, the lens is completely cloudy. I will ring tomorrow and get an earliest appointment, but I don't think I'm wrong

We have an appointment with our own vet this afternoon at 4.30pm, who will then refer us to the Ophthalmology referral unit in Thornbury if need be, if she does need an operation it will be this surgery that does it....all part of the same Vet practise though.

The HC blood test you had done, is it only for staffies or do they test for other dogs as well? If it is cataracts, I would like to know what the status of my Lily.

Could you pm me details on the test please just in case we need to get her tested.

Thanks

Do Cockers suffer from HC? If she does have a cataract then it may be worth contacting Optigen and see whether they are doing research into it and offer Petal up.
I hope things can be resolved for you. A worrying time. Thinking of you.
