Just read all this, and am really hoping for good news soon.

Poor Chase and poor you..........if it IS an obstruction or similar, then perhaps by now it has all been successfully sorted out.

Bowing and stretching right to the toes are sure signs of pain.

Hope whatever it was has been found and that Chase will feel better soon....

Hi everyone,
We took Chase to the vets, he thought it was acute pancreatitis, rushed us to the main vet surgery in the city. We got there they admitted him to do blood tests, he was petrified so they sedated him when we were there which was horrible as he really fought us all as we had to hold him, awful. He fell asleep calmly though and even woke briefly and wagged his tail before we left.

The vet called me the bloods were negative for pancreatitis, and his stomach seemed inflamed when she examined it so she decided to operate to check for obstructions. Chase isn't a chewer, he never has been, we have to really try to get him to eat his food let alone anything else so we were worried it would be something sinister. She just called, there is no obstruction, but he's very inflamed and there seems to be some very small particles of something, but nothing that would obstruct, so he's on medication to clear him out completely and he's on antibiotics. He's having a repeat xray and potentially an endoscopy if nothing has come through by tomorrow.

So far, all seems to be positive, she thinks he may have a really bad stomach bug, but still isn't sure yet....

Our poor baby, its horrible, I miss him so much I just want him home

Thank you all so much for your messages, we really appreciate your support - I know you all know how horrible this is - I just don't want him to be in pain, she's promised he's sedated and has plenty of pain relief, he's not scared now either. She's a lovely vet she promised she'd give him kisses from us

Thank you all again xxxx
