Very proud of Layla.

I've been holding off getting Layla vet checked because she is so nervous and I wanted her to get more comfortable with strangers.

She's been doing really well just lately so I thought it was time I bit the bullet (partly because Scooby needed to go for his jabs to!).

I took her in by herself since Scooby hates the vets and she sat really nicely in the waiting room. The vet was great with her and when I said she is nervous he just knelt down and called her name and she raced over to him for a hug. Throwing herself on the floor and rolling around.

She got a bit freaked out by the stethoscope but there is no aggression in her at all and she just hid. She weighs 15.4kg's which is about 2kg's more than when I found her.

She really surprised me with how good she was! I'm so chuffed, Scooby on the other hand did his best to escape but he did get a clean bill of health

Oh well done Layla!!

It sounds as if your vet is lovely, and very sympathetic to nervous dogs - it all helps doesn't it.

Well done, it's so stressful for us as well as our dogs if they hate the vets.

Thanks all. I'm still really chuffed but sadly Scooby's bloods came back with elevated counts on his kidneys. Although he's borderline at the moment I need to be really careful with his diet and monitor his drinking from now on. Still at least we caught it early.
