How to stop puppy charging into the back of my legs?

Hello All,

My boy is being a total star, coming on the recall, sitting when told, waiting to be told he can eat / take a treat from my hand.......... all this at just over 10 weeks!!!! :veryveryproudmumwhoknowsit'sveryearlydaysbut..... .smilie:

One thing I just can't work out is how to stop him charging the back of my legs as I'm walking along? and also dancing around my legs causing me to trip and putting him in danger of being trodden on.

Any tips or advice on how I can teach him not to do this?

Thanks
MM

ETA :- ooops sorry this should be in training, could Admin shift it for me please as I don't want to double post.

Tread on him and he'll soon learn it's not wise to dance round your legs

For a 10 week old puppy this is such a fun game, lets get mums attension my tripping her up, getting her on the floor.
Dont give him any eye contact, attension when he does this, he is just trying to get you to play with him!
Fold your arms say NO and ignore him - very hard with a 10 week old puppy, but you dont want an adult male dobe charging at peoples legs!

good luck

Dont carry on walking, he will only continue to charge at your legs and try and trip you up, stand still, say NO fold your arms and look away, he will soon get bored once he realises he isnt going to win!
