You buy yourself a Dicky Bag as a present! And get very excited about it!

Most of these have made me laugh! When you love it when the dog gets up and snuggles in behind you on your chair and then, five mins later you are perched on the very edge of it while the (tiny) dog has the lion's share!

When you find yourself still 'talking' to your beloved dog ages after she died - I could not get out of the habit of saying 'here we are' as I drew up home in the car for yonks. (Having a dog is the BEST excuse for 'talking to yourself')

When you will ignore quite serious health problems in yourself and put off going to the doc for AGES but at the slightest sign of ANYTHING untoward in your dog you are racing to the vet!

when you are on a lovely walk and it starts pouring with rain and your only worry is getting the dog home quick cos he doesn't like it and drying him off before you've even taken your coat off

Oh you've transported me back about 14 yrs to when my (now departed) cavvy was young. My (then) 10 yr old daughter would take her down on Newlyn Beach and arrive home shivering in her T-Shirt with the dog all snugly wrapped up in her jumper! Either because it had rained (does that a lot in W. Cornwall) or because the dog had run through water and started shivering!

Never mind dopey daughters - in winter her dopey mother (me) turns the electric blanket on hours early because the dog retires before I do!

When you spend longer thinking about and planning what the dogs will have for their tea, than your own meal.

When you have the vets number in your phones directory, but not your own doctors and you have to search for it using yellow pages.

Had to agree with all the others posted, too!
