Critiques

This might seem a daft question but do all dogs at champ shows get a critique. My boy was at manchester and he didnt get placed. Is it only the first 3 placed dogs that get a critique?

also what does VHC stand for (forgive me if I sound dumb but I'm still learning)

At an Open Show it's usually just 1st

Champ show, 1st & 2nd

At Crufts, 1st, 2d & 3rd.

VHC = Very Highly Commended

With regards to critiques, not every dog gets one, although it would be lovely to hear what they though of ALL their entries I've always thought, but I practicalities come into it I guess!

If you win 1st, 2nd (sometimes 3rd) place the judge will ask you to stand and continue to show your dog for a little while whilst the critique is done by the Judge.

The critiques are often to be seen in 'doggy' newspapers such as Dog World or Our Dogs (which are also on-line too)

In one of Rio's recent critiques the judge got her colour wrong and said she lacked condition, so they aren't all worth reading!!!!
