I have to admit I flicked through a bit more last night...the woman is a nutter.
Free runing of the dogs wasn't mentioned until they were about 8 months!!!!
It also said using a crate for a pup was good because it could be used for discipline. If the pup misbehaves, put it in the crate, like you'd send a child to it's room.....
I don't think I should pick it up again, other than to return it to the library and suggest to them that it is a right lot of old ....
So glad it's not just me!

I hate to admit this and don't all shout at once,I bought her book think it was the dog listener anyway got it ready for Zanta and I am sure by reading that and taking notice of some of the stuff thats what set me up for problems with Zanta she was always going to be dominant even her breeder admitted that when she went back but I am sure it stopped the bonding.
Never read a book for Max did it by gut instinct and he could be a naughty boy but so loving and haven't read any for Ollie done it the same way as with Max and no problems. My boys would of lynched me if I had another dog training book in the house this timeSo I agree use for loo paper or straightening a wonky table leg.

No shouting from me Lynn...it's just worrying that people will pick this up and use it...some of the stuff in it is commensense and basic, but other stuff is just a lot of old tosh and could stop people bonding. Hugs Lynn!

That particular book was all about amichien bonding well it didn't do much for us so I now stick to being totally soppy and stupid as I was with my other dog never did him any harm or me and certainly isn't giving Ollie ideas about wanting to rule the world. It is a shame that people buy this book thinking whats in it is right.
And thanks for not shouting.
