Alfie 'Chops' - 9 year old male Mastiff
Alfie 'Chops', Mastiff, DOB 11.02 - Littlehampton, West Sussex
Homing Requirements: Alfie Chops needs a companionship home. He has been an only dog but may adapt to another similar age dog. He has lived with a cat but is interested in them outside. Easy on the lead. Inclusive dog i.e. sleeps beside your bed, enjoys access to furniture. Can be left. Medium sized 19-20" to shoulder. Insurance maybe a problem as Alfie is nearly 10 years old.
His Story: Alfie was found stray in Yorkshire in Summer 2008 and came down from another rescue in November. He was in good condition, neutered with a old scare above his eye. Alfie was fostered then homed to a family but is now being left 10-12 hours a day due to his owners job and needs more walks etc. Needs to restart his vax. Chipped.
Advert: Alfie Chops is a calm character. He has lived with young adults who were first time dog owners. He is managed easily around streets, a busy park, shopping areas and large gatherings. Showered by attention/cuddles by every passerby!! Alfie meets dogs well, rarely gets concerned but is happy if you just keep walking and soon settles. Alfie tolerates being left just fine. Housetrained. He likes to be inclusive, but doesn't smother and will take himself off for a snooze on the sofa or gets the sun block out, finding a spot in the garden. He runs along side a bike. Loves to meet people arriving ... the perfect host.
Alfie is handsome with a sandy fawn coat and greying muzzle. He has a gentle, rather serious feel whilst showing happiness in meetings. He loves to stare at the TV with one eye closed and yes has been known to sleep on the same bed as the cat Alfie what more could anyone want. He tends not to be off the lead just 'cause he is rather social'. He could live with another gentle dog or a dog friendly cat(s). What a lovely person Alfie is.
