I've just passed the review above to the theatre and asked for their suggestion for compensating the £54 Jackie and I wasted on this garbage. I'll keep you posted.

Update:

I just received this from NWT:

Dear Vicki

Thank you for your email in full regarding this weekend’s performance of Peter Pan.

I have forwarded it to First Family Entertainment who produced, directed and cast the production. Until now we have only received positive feedback from our audiences regarding the show so on behalf of the theatre I am sorry you felt your visit did not meet your expectations.

To ensure your next visit to New Wimbledon Theatre is a more positive one I can gladly organise two tickets to the press night of either The Blues Brothers (Tues 22 Feb) or Jekyll and Hyde starring Marti Pellow (Mon 28 Feb) as a gesture of goodwill.

Best wishes,

Mark

I've no idea what a "press night" is and I have no interest in attending a theatre showing in the evening. I am up very early and it's just not convenient. It's the reason why we went to the matinee. I declined the offer.

I also mentioned to him that The Metro (free London paper) had a review of the show and they also mentioned the inappropriate "sexual innuendo". Thousands and thousands of people read this paper.

Looks to me like he didn't do his research before sending me this email.......

Idiot.....

Well I don't know what to say about that statement, either the standards of modern day theatre goers has nosedived into the gutter or he's lying through his teeth. I never considered the Metro a particularly high class newspaper so if they felt it was innappriate then it must have been bad.

I think a 'Press Night' is probably when they invite the theatre critic from the local rag to view the show and hope to get a good review in the paper The 'West End' theatres often get so many media people attending there's never any spare seats for Joe Public so that gives you some idea of the status of the New Wimbledon Theatre

NWT have now come up trumps with the offer of two matinee tickets to either The Blues Brothers or Jekyll and Hyde.

I've happily accepted The Blues Brothers on 26th February next year.

Well done NWT!

I think you should have an Official Dogsey Drama Critic pass.

Well she's going to the Press Day showing so I think that makes her our very own drama critic, ooops I nearly said drama queen but she's far too nice for that
