Lamb dumped in bin

A lamb is being cared for by the RSPCA after he was found dumped in a wheelie bin. The animal, which is around a month old, was discovered by a district nurse who heard a noise coming from the bin on Watts Street in Manchester.

The RSPCA are trying to trace a man driving an Audi who was seen in the area minutes before the discovery at 12:50pm.

The case has echoes of Mary Bale who was caught on CCTV dumping a cat in a wheelie bin.

Thats rather a strange thing. Most lambs are put in the nearest sheep field if they are found - well I've heard stories but a wheelie bin?

someone could have stole the lamb - You know what people are like, cause harm and upset for the sake of it.

I saw this too. It's so lucky that the poor thing was discovered. I never understand people's mentality towards animals. A friend of mine is a solicitor and one of their firms cases was a client who had got drunk with some friends, walked home past someone's smallholding and spotted a pregnant ewe. I won't go into details because both my friend and I found it very upsetting and disturbing indeed. He was actually detained though as a result of his 'drunken prank' (as I think his defence called it)

Or it may have been stolen to sell on or for a ptoential Sunday Roast.

Apart from the immediate welfare issues there is a more serious one, that of FMD which is why there are such strict controls on the movement of farm animals.

Livestock rustling sounds funny but has potential serious countrywide livelihood implications for farmers across the UK.

Even if it was unwanted, why in a wheelie bin as it was going to suffer? Poor thing.

Perhaps he had thought of selling it to Japanese people as a Poodle puppy?

My guess it was stolen to be eaten once big enough, but they bottled it so needed to get rid of the lamb.
