My desensitizing playlist....

I made this playlist on youtube. Ive been playing it to Jinty during times of calm, when doing some training or when playing games. I only play the playlist when she is calm, concentrating or having fun. At the moment, the laptop is on pretty quiet but I have been inching the sound up very gradually and adding new videos to it whenever they cross my mind.

Heres the playlist, in case any of you want to have a look.

Are there anymore noises I could add?

Ive got:

Fireworks
Crowds
Children playing
Sirens
Cars/motorbikes/trains
Thunder
Guns
Animal noises (cats, farm animals, other dogs)
Rainfall
Breaking glass
Howling wind
Phones
Doors
Lawnmower
Hairdryer
Hoover
Cheering

Thats all I can remember off the top of my head.

If you are wondering, why guns? Its in case she hears them on the TV..... we don't watch much TV but my brother (at my mums house) likes 'action' programmes......

These are good ideas, there are specialist CDs you can get to enable dogs to become habituated to sounds.

I haven't got a CD player or a CD drive in my netbook.

I had seen those CDs, and wanted one, but I have no means to do anything with it (unless I play it to her in the car? Should I? Or would she be getting enough stimulation from sounds outside?).

Know these desensitising DVDs help with a lot of dogs but my bitch Anni who hated fireworks & thunder took no notice when these were played on DVD or TV no matter how loud. Interestingly although she hated gun shots she took no notice of the bird scarer gun shots & distress cries broadcast from a van on the runway at the airport. Should add we live next to Birmingham airport.
