Sad update about my Brother in law

Sorry I have not been around much lately but it's just been hectic here. Lester went for his scan last week but unfortunatly it seems that the tumours have grown, so that means that the chemo is no longer working.

He spoke to his oncologist and he feels that it might be best for him to come off the chemo all together

I can see his point of view, the chemo is making Lester sick 2 weeks out of 4 and if it's not helping then what's the point???

So so sad, because it now seems as this might be the beginning of the end

He looks like he's been hit with a brick, after all the positivity that has been around his illness after the first shock of diagnosis.....
The doc saying "quality of life" was like a slap in the face.

Lester doesn't know 'how long' and he doesn't want to. All I can do is be there for the both of them.

They have had 5 holidays this year..up to now Rose (his wife) keeps booking them thinking the sun will help. Well it's boosting his wellbeing, but you can't just keep going on holiday and the moment he starts to realise that there is nothing else that can help is going to be so hard to bear.

How can I look him in the eyes

xxx

You will and you'll find a way to help. When you do see him, try to let him take the lead - if he wants to talk about his illness, let him. If not, then talk about the everyday things you would normally chat about.

So sorry the news isn't better
