I'm so old I can remember when petrol was 25p a GALLON.

My first wage when I left school was £2.50p a WEEK.

Beer was 6p a pint.

You got into the cinema for 5p

Oh my, I wish I was a teenager again.

I can also remember when my Dad would pull into a garage and the service attendant would come out of his office wearing a white coat. No matter what the weather was he would put your petrol in for you, add 1 squirt of Redx into the fuel tank per gallon of petrol, check your oil and then wash your window screen for you.

That's in decimal currency H&Z

25p was 5 shillings.
6p was 1 and tuppence,
3p was a tanner (sixpence)

Well I lived in London up until the late 70's and we still had them then.
