I thought i'd add some culture to the forum

My fav (Among many many others)

I was brought up as a "classical" musician - but to be pedantic, prefer golden age/baroque to the later stuff.
So - Handel and Beethoven flute sonata's as I was a flautist, opera - a bit of a change of gear, liked the light relief and pure "Englishness" of G&S, sung by Doyle Carte of course who else....... one song featured in a particularly memorable episode of "The Simpsons" but now I am veering seriously off thread!

I nearly became a professional "serious" musician but that was a road not taken in the end. Hey, there's an idea for another thread.....

whn we were growing up, my mom always played madame butterfly and la boheme, which we all hated - so WHY do i now find myself humming along??
