Ticks

Sorry to bring this up, I know ticks are disgusting but my poor little boy has got a horrible tick on his face! And I wondered why he's been screaming all day everytime I touched his head.
I've sploged some vasaline to suffocate it (didn't want to use meths for obvious reasons!) just wanted to know how long to leave it on for before trying to remove it? Oh and do I need to twist it a certain way when removing it (just some thing someone said when I went out this aft! )?

Try to make certain that you remove the head completely, with feeders intact.

Use tweezers to remove it if possible.

Well had it been me, I would have taken my tweezer (well I actually have a tickremover thingy) and twist it a few times to each side, and pull it out... Right away.. I dont use vaseline or anything else.

Well I got it all out! I was nearly sick, but I got it all out! I can honestly say they are the most disgusting things I think I've ever seen.

I always thought you had to kill it first and then remove it? The tweezer thing is really difficult, had to put an elastic band round the tweezers so I could concentrate on twisting! Hope I don't have to do anything like that again anytime soon!!!!!
