And relax.

I know I know I was probably worrying to much but I hadn't heard anything from Gorden it is now 8.25pm Kazakhstan time.

I have just had an email he is fine says it much more organised now where he is and very friendly he got taken out to lunch and has two bathrooms in his serviced rooms.
But no internet unless he sits in the very noisy restaraunt so no good for skyping not today anyway and his phone doesn't work either.

None of his colleagues from across the other side of the world are there yet so he starts teaching on his own tomorrow his group. They will be knackered too.

He has said he has had 6 hours sleep and spent 13 hours on planes no wonder he is worn out.
I can relax now I have heard from him and he says he has spent no money yet as people keep buying him food and giving him lifts.

I just posted in the Daily thread saying not to worry

Glad he's fine and that they are looking after him - sounds like he's going to have a lot of fun there

Many moons ago my hubby worked in Ghana for a couple of weeks. The only 'phone (if you can call it that) as an hour away and they were in the middle of the rain forest so it worked as an when. It was a fraught two weeks, but we both survived

Thanks all.

I know Chris makes you wonder how we managed without all this technology he has worked away from home before but never abroad.
It was only ever 3 nights at the most too.
The last time we spent time apart was before we were married and both still living at home and he went away abroad with the Essex youth orchestra so was a lot different to now.

Phew so pleased you have made contact at last.
I know what a worry it can be because my son often has to travel to India or China for his work and I can never rest until I hear he is safe.
Feet up, and relax

Glad to hear he is OK and 2 bathrooms, oh my, he will be the cleanest of the clean. Lovely to hear he hasn't had to put his hand in his pocket as yet, long may it continue, the less he spends over there, the more there is for you
At least he will have had a bit of sleep and familiarisation unlike the rest of them, they will be certainly thrown in at the deep end and won't know what hit them or what day it is.
Hope all goes well on his first day
