Whimpers & lies down

We took our 3 year old Rotweiller/ Blue Heeler cross Camping with us this weekend. The last day he puked a few times, I just thought he ate to much grass. He is like a cow, loves the grass. By the time we were about to leave he started to whimper took a few funny steps and laid down. He seemed fine yesterday. We usually go for a 4km walk every morning but this morning he did not make 10mins before he whimpered and laid down again. He did this once before we got home. Once we go into the yard he whimpered and laid down. He also does not have a appetite, he is usually a pig. Could it be he just ate something funky? or water in the lungs from the swim he took? I am not sure what is wrong but it worries me. He usually has a crazy amount of energy. This is all very odd for him. Any advice would be appreciated.

It comes out as normal so far. I am hoping to get to a vet in the next few days. I called a few vets and neither seemed overly concerned.
