Can anyone in Kent recommend a trainer, please?

I have arranged to go to a class on Saturday morning but from what the lady has said I am not overly sure that it is the class for me.
She pooh poohed the martingale when i said I'd prefer to use one and said i needed to get the check chain fitted so that the ends didn't meet but had a gap of an inch so that Delilah would feel the pinch...

I don't want her to "feel the pinch"

She hasn't mentioned treats either....although i did forget to ask.

I train with treats with great effect and just wanted to socialise Delilah and brush up on my skills...

I am not so sure that i want to take her somewhere where i will be expected to force her in to submission and i am definite that i will NOT do it....Is it worth going anyway?

Can someone point me in the direction of a POSITIVE, reward based trainer please?

thanks x

Have a look on the UK apdt site. You can always go and watch before committing to a class.

APDT trainers sign a 'pledge' to not use harsh methods so would definately check out their list of trainers - http://www.apdt.co.uk (go to "Local dog trainers" on the left)

http://www.dogpsyche.co.uk/ do supervised walk clubs which I believe have training in them if that's any use. I was going to enroll Jobie a few years ago but since I don't drive yet couldn't get there. I believe the lady who runs it is a Dogsey member, don't remember her handle though...

Oh wait, I didn't see the last bit of your post good luck for saturday!
