What made you fall in love with your home?

Okay just a thought when you brought your house why did you fall in love with it,

What made you love your house; the feel, the area, the neighbours, the size,
a specific room like the kitchen - even if you knew you would change it later? what was it that made you choose your house, and make it your home?

I fell in love with mine because it is light, airy, great views and has all the space and bits and bobs I need.

I had no choice in the matter - I was born here I have lived here nearly 43 years now but do sometimes wonder what it would be like to live somewhere else.

I am soooo lucky to live where I do - perched high up on the Gloucestershire beauty-spot, May Hill. The house is at the end of a no-thru road, the only traffic is the postman and the milkman, and an occasional walker going up the Wysis Way (which runs right past the front door). Who wouldn't want to live here?? The house was originally 2 cottages built about 200 years ago, now knocked through and extended - we still have the well in the back garden! And there is nothing nicer than chucking a few logs onto the fire while it pelts it down with snow outside (we are just above the snow line, so often get snow when nobody else does!).

So .. anyone fancy a visit??

I know I think I have been here longer than everyone in our road now My mum moved in in 1939 with her mum and dad, when she was 14 but her mum died of an heart attack soon after moving in so she lived with her dad. I was actually born in the very room I am in now

I fell in love with my house because....

It is light and airy,
In a nice quiet area - turns out to be even quieter than we first thought! Loads of fields and woodland just at the back of our close,
The house is cosy and feels so calm and relaxed,
Clean, simple lines and well looked after by previous owners,
No crazy or bad decor!
Its near to friends and family,
Not falling down with tonnes of things to do to it!

I dont suppose there is anything really special about it - its a 3 bed semi with a garden on a corner plot with nice views over the fields. The first time I ever saw it on the internet i just really loved it, and the moment we looked at it, it felt so 'right'

Sad though it may be, but i love my house It may not be much to look at and certainly isnt always clean and tidy as i would like but it's home
