Tip to make your house smell nice!!

i do like those plug in air fresheners but they are hideously expensive. i was thinking the other day of how i could make a cheap alternative and came up with this. get a couple of pieces of kitchen roll and dab some of your favourite essential oil in the middle. roll up the kitchen roll and stuff it down one of the grills in a radiator. when the heating comes on it warms the kitchen roll and releases the scent! how simple is that!

That's a pretty nifty idea, I'd be worried it would catch on fire but then I worry about things too much!!

My top tip for keeping your house smelling nice and fresh and also tidy is "Dont get a dog"!!!

i'm pretty sure that wouldn't happen cos we can dry clothes on them and it's all fine!

well i have to agree with you there! plus my cats have a disturbing habit of knowing just when someone is about to knock on my door, and doing a smelly poo in the litter tray. the gas man came to read the meter once and i had just picked up a particularly unpleasant deposit! i was terrified he might have thought i'd made the smell though!!

I use clothes conditioners, essential oils and the perfume you can buy from £1 shops
another nice one is zoflora disinfectant

I soak an old flannel in comfort and put it on the radiator.

Lidl's plug ins are cheap and very good too.

great idea. maybe i could stick scented kitchen roll on stu. Thats where the real odours come from!!

I use that Zoflora too, smells lovely

An old estate agents tip is to spray some furniture polish onto the central heating radiators, as they warm up they give off a lovely smell

I just wish I could get my muddy, piddled on garden to smell nice - it is so gross at the moment.

ah well i guess it takes another genius to think of something like that! it is a good idea though and i like the thought of clothes conditioner too. i just love things that don't cost much if any, money!! xxx

hmm, can't help with the garden but hold onto the fact summer is on it's way (slowly!) and we will all have lovely bouncy green grass again!!
