Needing inspiration for a KC name.

Hi

Seeing as I've very little imagination for a 2nd Kennel Club name I wondered if anyone could offer up any suggestions. My fella is a black, white and tan BC called Murphy and we live in a place called Thurston. So my 1st name will be Mac Murchaidh of Thurston - Mac Murchaidh being Irish for Murphy.

I also read somewhere that I could change the spelling slightly and add that as a 2nd choice. Can I do this?

Thanks

Emer

Ha-ha! I have checked out a few web sites and of course many do say son of Murphy but one said just Murphy and I went with that because I prefered it.

Is your pup already KC registered, because if he is , he will already have a kc name.

And as far as I understand it, you cant change his given kennel (affix name) you can add on your own Affix, though.

No Murphy is not already KC registered - we need to register him in order to compete at agility comps.

I quite like gaelic names and when looking up sea warrier it threw up sea hound which translates into Cu Na Mara and so it's Cu Na Mara at Thurston.

What a palaver, I'm glad I'm not a breeder with 10 pups to name!

Thanks for your help

Emer

Be wary of Gaelic names When you are being called to collect prizes in the future you will have the name mangled beyond recognition

My friend has a dog with a Gaelic name it's a mountain and they can never say it. I usually shout it out if I'm there, Tassle will know who I mean

I think you are more likely to have problems with the Thurston because it is already likely to be someone else's affix - unless it is yours, of course.

The KC are normally very helpful - you can ring them up and ask if it is already an affix and they will tell you.

Good luck !
