how old's your washing machine ?

we've got an antique, it's 21 yrs old. it's a BENDIX ELECTRONIC automatic. the only thing that's been replaced is the rubber door gasket, it still goes great

thats great my dad has an indesit machine we gave him 18 years ago and we had it a few years before that it still going strong

Current one is only 3 years old, one before was only 4 years old. Had a Zanussi that lasted 12 years, and it only packed up after we moved!

Quite old! It broke down for the first time about six months ago (bushes needed replacing) and the guy who came out to fix it strongly encouraged us not to replace it.

His argument being that our model "HotPoint 800 Electronic De Luxe 9524" is one of the most reliable ones ever made. (He sells reconditioned machines.)

He also argued that most modern machines are not only crap but also much more expensive to fix as they are mostly computer powered.

Not sure how old ours is, but I think it's about ten years old. Suffice to say that we have no intention of replacing it.

P.S. Note the number of men replying to this thread! Ah, I see that Nero is being cunning and building the number up through multiple posts. Good thinking!
