Horrific incident involving a fox

My parent's GSD bitch Mishcka is very lucky to be alive she had an awful accident a couple of days ago she was in the garden late and she got attacked by a fox and in the struggle she ran into a wire fence that had been dislodged out of the ground in the fight, and it went into her eye! my mum heared a commotion and a squeal and went running into the garden to see mishcka running towards her with the fence in her eye! She was about a millimeter from losing her eye and obviously if it had gone further it would have most likely killed her. Luckily thank god it went into the soft tissue around the eye and shes absolutely fine! Shes got some antibiotics to stop infection but shes absolutley petrified of going into the garden now, shes as soft as grease and i just can't believe it happened to her and how lucky she was.

Oooo poor dog. Glad to hear she has antibiotics, but still keep an eye on her (nto ment to be a pun). My last dog ran into a barb wire fence the week after we got him from a rescue centre.

He was treated by the vets but six months later his vision seemed to be going. Initially they thought it was his age, as he was already ten years old when we got him, but we were refered to a specialist and it turned out he had an infection in the eye which was slowly turning him blind. Treatment through the specialist saved his eye site and he went on to live for another ten years!!

So sorry to hear that, hope she will be fine in time. ((((((((Hugs)))))))) to her and hopefully the anti-biotics will work. I am sure she will get over her fear of the garden with a little coaxing.

Thanks for that we were really worried that she would lose her eye but it seems to be okay fingers crossed just a bit swolen but as shes only a year old any signs of anything wrong with her eye im sure will be down to that so we'll keep a real close eye on it and hopefully the antibiotics will sort it out shes got three different types!
