I watched it as a kid and remember howling (excuse the pun) when he (Charlton Heston???) let the dog choose whether to stay or run off with the wolves.

I think your memory may be failing you Phil - Charlton Heston doesn't let Buck choose - Buck just goes to be with his wolfie girlfriend, but then does come back after a few weeks.

Have you read any more of *that book* yet?! LOL! I have finished another two of his in the time it has taken you to read 29 (?) pages!

I only have a very vague memory of it - I was probably about 7 when I saw it.

As for 'Moobli' - afraid I've not - It's still top of the 'to read' pile but a reading phase hasn't come along yet

The description is problably that of a Rough collie as they were known as "Scotch"collies

Only seen the film when I was a kid but i've got both 'Call of the Wild' and 'White Fang' in book form, the latter of which i'm currently reading again for the millionth time!
