my dog has just been diagnosed with lungworm

Hi everyone,i have a 1yr old minature poodle called ole, just this week i have found out he has lungworm having been treated for the last 4week for kennel cough,he as been really poorly coughing, retching, steggery, breathing difficulty's and slavering alot. The vet has now got him on advocate and he seems to be picking up slowly.Didn't realise how many dogs had lungworm till i found this site,if anyone has any advice i would be grateful.cheers.

hi
lungworm can be serious but is easily treatable.the easiest way for your dog to catch it is by eating grass or something that a slug trail has been on.advocate works very quickly,i would recommend you use it monthly for this reason as lungworm is in the increase. he should be fine in a couple of days.
