Is this the most expensive cake ?

Jamie my husband took me out to a lovely craft outlet on Saturday at Snape Maltings near Aldborough in Suffolk. There were galleries and home and garden shops and an antiques shop. We stopped for a coffee at the cafe in the home and garden shop and I was almost tempted to have a cake with my coffee but fortunately saw the price list on the wall first and they were £4.50!

The cakes looked nice and were obviously home-made (almond slices and chocolate cake) but were medium sized square cakes and definitely the most expensive cakes I have ever seen in a cafe!

I'm not mean but would have to be extremely hungry (or rich!) to pay £4.50 for one piece of cake.

Can anyone beat this

That's about right for the price of desserts in places around here - oh the joys of living near London! You could buy a box of eggs, block of butter, bag of sugar and flour for £4.50 and make a huuuge cake!

Blimey, that's outrageous......
