The smell of dog wee...

......never seems to fade from the pathways in my garden no matter what I use, obviously now the weather is redhot all the time, its getting worse. The dogs will only go on the path or patio, not the grass.

What do you guys use to get rid of the smell?

Thanks, Bev

Have you tried washing it with diluted biological washing powder/liquid? The enzymes in it should break down the smell.

Last thing at night make up bleach solution in your water can. Pour over area. Leave overnight & before dogs go out wash down with hose.

I've just re-discovered Jeys fluid, gets rid off all smells, I throw some diluted with warm water down, give it a scrub with a yard brush then rinse it away with cold water. Gets rid of all smells and the flies!!!!

Fankyou too Velvet, I tried this once, but it was through the day & took ages to try, wasnt bright enough to think of doing it overnight

Ahhh thanks BB, got some of this in the cupboard for use in the drains, I'll have a go at this too, the flies are everywhere even when Ive picked up after the dogs, which is morning & night & its nasty

Thanks very much for all the suggestions

Bev

It does appear a bit pricy but the dilution and the length of time it is effective makes it last a long time.

Jeyes fluid (diluted). It kills plants btw, but it certainly kills the smell.

Jeyes does work but you have to be care with the dilution as over time it colours your flags.
