Sometimes I do wonder

An eight-year-old girl was 'slapped, kicked' and given a bloody eye by sick thugs stole her beloved dog while she took it for a walk.

Beth Lannetta and sister Kathryn, 14, took their dogs Star and her sister Molly for a walk from their home in Newport, Wales at around 8.30pm on Thursday.

I was going to say I hope they've got some CCTV evidence but see that they've arrested 2 teenage girls in connection with this. I hope they treat this matter VERY seriously. They apparently tried to lure the 8 yr old girl away too telling her they had a bus ticket for her to go with them. I couldn't help but be put in mind of the Jamie Bulger case.

I bet those two little girls with the dogs were told to stay together when they were out. Not many parents would let an 8 year old go wandering off by herself. Her older sister must be feeling terrible.

I hope it is the girls responsible who they caught, and I hope there are some serious repercussions for the little cretins. Hopefully involving therapy. Seriously-- terrorising an animal and a young child-- how heartless do you have to be? I hope they haven't harmed the dog and the family gets back together soon. This is so sad.
