I used it with Harley when he had severe squits (it was like a hosepipe being turned on), and he wouldn't eat, so I wanted to get his elecrolyte counts up as much as poss. He didn't get any worse and got better, and was fine again in two days, and I'm positive this helped (although we had to force syringe feed it him, and he didn't like it, but he had to have something).

Yes, its a simple mixture of sugars and salts designed to rehydrate and re-balance the body's electrolytes.

Its not really medicine, just useful equipment to keep in your first aid kit.

To be honest till I read about it on another forum I never thought about it,but I am going to make sure I keep some in

Obviously if they are poorly it's a vet visit but for upset tums it could be handy to use to keep up hydration levels.

As it is fruity I would not give it to the dog unless I had anything better.

I keep Lectade and Synergo in my FA Box

I used Dioralyte about 2 years ago with Yiannis but that's all I had to give him. It was after this that I found out about Lectade and now I ensure I always have some.

I also have separate FA boxes for us (well mostly for Oscar actually) and the dogs. Things such as spray disinfectant and bandages for when they're out and about, with things like Lectade for minor problems at home.

Of course, anything major and they have the fantastic pleasure of visiting the vet!!
