The problem with home baking..

I made some cheesey treats for the dogs today, I got a recipe off the net and substituted the sardines (which I don't have) for cheese (of which I have an abundance )

They've turned out great!!!

But the bad part - I can eat them and they taste like my favourite Cheese Straws.. so I guess as well as being dog friendly - they're human friendly too

The other problem - I can't stop eating them

Here's one batch - the other is in the oven I'm trying to get a smaller cutter so I can make them treat sized - I used a medicine bottle top for these..

I had this problem when I made cheesey biscuits for my dog. They were so nice, the BF ended up eating most of them. Mac was most unimpressed

how about sharing this recipe SLB? They look yummy.

I made cheesey garlic bread (using non wheat/corn flour)for the Christmas Party at class. Clearly labelled as treats for the dogs, not cut up neatly, just torn into bits. The humans ate pretty much all of it!

Urm, let me find it - I wrote it down somewhere..

8oz flour - corn/non wheat
2 eggs (I used 3 I found it bound better)
Lots of cheese - as I was substituting Sardines - I just grated loads of cheese - I think there was 200g in there..
A tblsp of water (2 if needed)
You can add a spoonful of Garlic - I forgot..

Using a pop bottle top or anything round and small, roll onto flour and make it flat - then cut and stick on a tray with flour on..
Bake for 10-15 minutes..

The original recipe:
8 ozs flour
2 beaten eggs
1 oz sunflower spread
good sprinkling garlic powder
3 jars of sardine spread or chicken spread or beef (economy)
or blended left over chicken pieces or mashed up tins of sardines x 2.
Roll out and cut with coke bottle top, bake til golden around 10 - 12 mins.
Hmm - mine looks nothing like it
