Hi the joys of dog ownership, at least she is little, its when you forget and they are fully grown ugh! anyway I see you have a Ute? how have your other dogs taken to the new member of the pack? she will learn really fast from them I am sure. I also have a Ute she is 20mths old a rescue, really lovely dog only had her for 3mths. Happy learning curve yet again.

Yep, got Maia about 4 years ago, she is about 7 years old, she was from Ute Rescue, there have been some challenges with her in the last 4 years, but the pup has worked miracles, i think she was a frustrated mum Jack just looks at her then me a if to say 'she still here then'

Well today was spent at the vets, Tara had her final boosters and weighed in at 9.4kgs (20lbs) no wonder my back hurts!!

My Lab, Jack also had to go to the vets, he has a lump possibly a Tumor on his shoulder and we are praying its nothing serious, poor boy

Yesterday Tara went to the Hospice where Jack and I go on our PAT visit, she made loads of new friends and its a great way to socialise her as she is so heavy to carry now, it gives her an opportunity to learn the ropes and is already proving she will make a great PAT dog when she is older, so many of the patients wanted a cuddle as did the nurses and she was so well behaved and sat on laps..she even had her photo taken

Socialising has been the hardest thing with Tara, as a large breed dog, its not easy to take her out and about as she is so heavy, so its great to be able to take her on homechecks and PATting.

What a nightmare, trying to get all 3 of my motley crew to sit of lay together, Jack avoids the puppy if he can and Maia, just 'puts up with her'

Think this photo says it all

Thanks x

Puppies, what is it with Pee'ing, Tara can Pee for England. I can guarantee I will have just cleared up one huge puddle, only to turn around and find another... It doesn't matter how many times I take her outside she still does a tiddle in the house and don't even get me started on POO!

In my hunt for the best way of clearing up the widdles, I have come to the conculsion that these 'posh' kitchen rolls that say they absorb more liquid than the leading brand is complete codswollop.

Bounty - Small roll and you still have to use yards of the stuff to mop up, coz if you think I am wringing it out think again...Bounty people

Lidl's own brand, not bad but does leave bits of paper behind when very wet..

Tesco super absorbant, seems to be the best value for money and does mop up nicely, Tara thinks this one tastes nice too

Thank Goodness for Dettol floor wipes and for those of you with puppies they are doing 50% extra free packs at the moment

Well that's my shopping survey done.

My finger is healing nicely after the Terror mistook it for a nice bit of ham, although I couldn't stop it from bleeding for the last 2 days, it seems to be Ok now, Tara seems to like the plaster and if I am not careful will try to pull it off at every opportunity

Tara went out in the garden this morning and we had had a very heavy frost, her reaction was hilarious, she couldn't work out what the crunchy stuff was and was jumping around and doing whirling dervishes, I suppose it was one way of keeping warm.

We are really stuggling with the wee and poo side of things, well at least I am, Tara is fine with it all

Why is it no sooner have you cleared up one pee, you turn around and she is doing another? I am sure Jack wasn't like this as a puppy...she absolutely HATES the wet and she will stand at the back door shivering..Note to self, get a puppy in the summer next time

I think the problem is we get frustrated as she looks older than the 12 weeks she is, she is so tall, she stands on her back legs and puts her paws on the kitchen table, her head sees way over the top, we are having to watch her as she is a food thief

She loves her crate, so is more than happy to go in there with the door shut while I pop out to the shops, I am hoping that soon I can close the door overnight soon, Tara loves nothing more than decorating the kitchen overnight with Puppy paw prints dipped in..poo

I know about the peeing and pooing thing. She is still a baby though. Poppy is 17 weeks and still doing it. But it is getting better, she will go to the back door now, so it is getting less and less. And yes puppies can pee for England
I gave up on the kitchen rolls, was costing the earth. Now is just have a mop, specifically for her wee's. I have it contantly soaking in Dettol!!
