some amazing transformations with a bit of love and care.
I hope they all find a loving home, from some of the before photos they deserve it!

Thank you Malka! Isn't it sad though that more groups can't do similar makeovers for adoptable pets? All these after pictures are so heartwarming and must have make a big difference in getting these poor pups adopted.

We got Callie at a small animal control facility and they had taken the time to bathe him and clear up infections and wounds he had when they found him. Because they were such a small center they had more time for the few animals in their care.

Sophie was from a large city shelter where many dogs didn't even get names never mind being groomed. Because of limited space they had maybe three days to find a home.

Fortunately we found her when we did. We weren't supposed to bathe her after spaying but she was caked in dirt and smelled like a dumpster.

What an incredible transformation. The one that couldn't even walk is so sad. No dog should have to live through that. Thankfully they are all taken care of and well on their way to a new life.

Some of the stories that turn up in my inbox are so distressing - and then something like this turns up.

Bet those dogs feel a whole lot better! Hope their new owners take more care of them than the original ones seem to have done.

Ya know I haven't thought about that for a long time. Isn't that sad with Sophie. I remember very clearly. The incision area where she was spayed was cleaned and shaved maybe four inches around. That's the only part of her anyone had time to clean.
