I see the date line on that story is today, but actually it is an 'old' story - I remember reading a similar story at least five years ago, and last year too.
Doesn't mean it's not true, in fact if you think about how much more sensitive a dogs nose is it's entirely possible they can sniff illness and disease long before it's started to cause problems for us.
Most newspapers, the Daily Mail in particular, seem to have a 'library' of these types of stories which they use on
slow news days and August is always slow because everyones on holiday
Tomorrow they'll probably publish the amazing story about how stroking your dog can reduce stress and lower your blood pressure, first discovered in the 1930's incidentally
But,
yes dogs are amazing creatures, that's why we love them so much, and why some of us prefer them to humans (Well most humans anyway, Dogsey peops excepted of course
