Jake & Charlie's Doggy Diary 23 Nov 06

We got Dad up early this morning coz we were excited about this place he had promised to take us with loads of snow, whatever that is. But when we reached the door to go out for the toilet it was pouring rain really heavy. Dad said we'd see how it was after breakfast.

We had breakfast and still the rain poured so Dad decided we would give the snow place a miss until it was a better day to enjoy it. Instead Dad decided to go for a haircut. Now you may think that might not seem very interesting to a dog, but you'd be mistaken. The lady who cuts dads hair always insists on Dad bringing us in for a fuss. She leaves a bowl of water for us in the corner and we get fuss from everyone who comes in, while Dad gets his hair cut.

After that the rain was still pouring down so we decided to go home. Although disappointed at missing our day out we tried to make the best of it and played for a while before snoozing on the sofa.

After lunch, Dad suddenly got up and put his jacket on. The sun had came out and the rain stopped and when Dad grabbed the leads we knew Dad was gonna take us somewhere, and he didn't disappoint.

We headed off down to a little river walk. Trees everywhere and loads of leaves on the ground to run through, and more mud puddles than we've ever seen, it was brill. We walked right the way along one side then crossed the river on a bridge and came back along the other. We met lots of other dogs too and even stopped at a park for a game of fetch.

Both of us were really well behaved and came back to Dad even while we were playing with other dogs. Dad was so pleased. We're home now and really tired, but it's almost dinner time and we don't wanna sleep through that. Wonder what we're having tonight.......

Awww shame you missed the snow this time lads, maybe next week. Sounds like the hairdressers is a great place to go, just be careful you dont come out with a new style yourselves. You remember the Labradoodle yesterday!!??

Fish n Chips? Only joking.. that's that funny 'human' food that naughty humans sometimes have (although I feel like some right now!). Glad your dad took you out somewhere in the end, he's a good un isn't he
