Hope the little girl is alright. The story is very vague so I'm not presuming anything as to why the dog attacked her. This is the village where I keep the horses so I'm sure I'll here something about it when I go down at the weekend with it being such a small place.

Of course, like everyone else, I do hope the little one recovers fully...

Yet i cant help thinking, dog 'attacks' are being over publicised lately.

It seems all 'news reporters' want to jump on the band wagon and put the jitters up people who are already nervous about dogs, when most people are fully aware a dog is as nice as the person who owns it trains it to be...

I wonder if many people who see a dog after reading such storys are more nervous of being near any dog...

Also it seems to me the only dog 'attacks I ever read about publicise the 'Rottweiler, Staffy and Doberman' breeds, if they can on these lovely dog breeds will recieve a less than appealing reputation, if the damage hasnt already been done...

this always irritates me, when i used to work with dogs on a daily basis i couldnt belive that the nastiest and most likely dog to bite you was either a golden retriver or a westie, and yet they get such a good press one of the girls that i worked with had a bite mark in her fore arm that looked more like a shark bite from a goldie that seemed like a really nice dog untill a part of you got between it and a toy!!!!!!!!!!

This is so true... and sadly shows the state of modern society, they all jump on a bandwagon to sell a 30p paper...
